Greensboro, NC -- Losing weight is a long and difficult journey and can be more than frustrating at times. But this morning my discouragement turned into excitement as I stepped onto the scale again weighing live on the Good Morning Show. On more than one occasion over the last couple of weeks I wanted to cave to my sweet tooth cravings. Not only that but there were plenty of days where I wanted to stay put on the couch and not go to the gym to workout. But it was these times where I pushed myself the most to get up and get going and it paid off.
This morning I couldn't believe my eyes as I saw the number on the scale go down. It empowered me to know the choices I'm making no matter how difficult or unflattering at times truly benefit me. I've set a 10 lbs. monthly weight loss goal to help me get to my ultimate goal of losing 100 lbs. Two weeks ago I stepped on the scale after starting my journey at 244 lbs. and weighed in at 238 lbs. I had no idea what my numbers would hold for this morning but my new number 234 lbs. I've lost a combined 10 lbs. to meet my first monthly goal.
I know I'll have good and bad days on the scale but today is one of the good days. I need to be proud of myself because every pound equals a struggle to lose it. No pound is lost without a fight and I'm a fighter. I'm fighting for my health and everything that I've lost in my life due to my weight struggles. I'm making a comeback in a big way!
