Greensboro, N.C. -- I started this journey 12 days ago, not knowing what to expect. I hoped I would be down at least one pound by my next live weigh-in on the WFMY News 2 Good Morning Show.
I stepped on the scale this morning and I was shocked to see I lost 6 lbs. That number might not sound like a lot to you, but it is to me, as I'm just beginning my journey to lose 100 lbs. I felt good knowing that all my hard work so far has paid off since first weighing live on the Good Morning Show at 244 lbs.
This week, I passed up many treats at work from Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, muffins and cupcakes.
Sunday night, I celebrated my mother's birthday. While three people enjoyed their banana pudding, blackberry ice cream, and brownie sundae I skipped out. However, later on that night I went home and had a piece of a pie I made based on a Weight Watcher recipe and it was delicious!
I've practiced portion control this week because I want to make slow changes that will lead to life-long changes. Portion control allows you freedom to go at your own pace and make small habit changes. This week I'll be focusing on planning meals ahead of time, scheduling days and times for exercise, learning to count carbs, and tracking the foods that I eat. I've set a monthly goal of losing 10 lbs. knowing eventually I will reach my ultimate goal of 100 lbs.
I want to thank you for your support and words of encouragement. Your comments on Facebook and Twitter inspire me to keep on track. I've been so overwhelmed by your support through all of this.
