Greensboro, NC -- Knowing the difference between a severe weather watch and a warning can be the difference between life and death.

A watch means that conditions are favorable for the development of a particular severe weather hazard and a warning means that the threat for the severe weather hazard is occurring now or is expected to develop shortly.

Meteorologist Ed Matthews explains the specifics of all of the severe weather watches and warnings.
