Bastad, Sweden (Sports Network) - Fernando Verdasco of Spain and Argentina's Carlos Berlocq won semifinal matches Saturday and will play for the title at the Swedish Open.

The eighth-seeded Verdasco needed 2 1/2 hours in a 7-6 (7-3), 5-7, 7-5 victory over fifth-seeded Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria, while Berlocq notched a 7-5, 6-3 triumph over Dutchman Thiemo de Bakker.

Verdasco will carry a finals record of just 5-12 into Sunday's match. He hasn't won a title since 2010 in Barcelona and last reached a final last year in Acapulco.

The 29-year-old lefty has played his best tennis of 2013 in recent weeks. He was a quarterfinalist at the Wimbledon tune-up in Eastbourne before bowing out to eventual champion Andy Murray in the round of eight at the All England Club last week.

Berlocq will play in his second ATP-level final. He lost to countrymate Juan Monaco in the 2012 Vina del Mar title match.

Verdasco won the only previous meeting with Berlocq, a 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) triumph in Auckland early in the 2012 season.

The winner of this event will collect $102,000.
