Eastbourne, England (Sports Network) - Rising American Jamie Hampton reached her first-ever WTA final by upsetting former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki on Friday at the $690,000 Aegon International tennis event, a final grass-court Wimbledon tune-up.

The qualifier Hampton came from behind to surprise the fifth-seeded 2009 Eastbourne champion Wozniacki 6-7 (8-10), 7-5, 6-3 at Devonshire Park. The 23- year-old Hampton's opponent in Saturday's final will be Russian Elena Vesnina, who whipped Belgian Yanina Wickmayer 6-2, 6-0 in the other semifinal.

The 36th-ranked Vesnina captured a French Open doubles title alongside fellow Russian Ekaterina Makarova two weeks ago. Wozniacki overcame the 2010 Eastbourne champion Makarova in a quarterfinal here on Thursday.

The 26-year-old Vesnina is a disappointing 1-6 in her career singles finals, but her lone victory came this year in Hobart, Australia.

The 41st-ranked Hampton and Vesnina will meet for the first time on the WTA level.

The 2013 Eastbourne champ will claim $117,000.
