Oeiras, Portugal (Sports Network) - Stanislas Wawrinka and Andreas Seppi were among the second-round winners Thursday at the Portugal Open.

The second-seeded Wawrinka rallied for a 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Spain's Albert Ramos, while the third-seeded Seppi concluded the day's action with a 6-4, 6-0 thumping of Colombia's Alejandro Falla.

Wawrinka is through to his third straight quarterfinal. The Swiss veteran lost in the Casablanca semis three weeks ago and fell in the quarterfinals at the Monte Carlo Masters in his last start.

Next up for the 16th-ranked player in the world will be Portuguese wild card Gastao Elias, who followed up his win over seventh-seeded Argentine Horacio Zeballos with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 triumph over Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin.

Seppi entered this week off losses in each of his openers at Monte Carlo and Bucharest. He will next take on Tommy Robredo in Friday's quarters after the eighth-seeded Spaniard toppled Dutch qualifier Robin Haase, 6-4, 6-4, on Thursday.

Robredo, the 2005 runner-up when this tournament was held in Estoril, has had a resurgence on the clay this year. He earned his first win since 2011 with a title in Casablanca last month and also reached the quarters in Barcelona last week.

Friday's remaining two quarterfinals will feature top-seeded Spaniard David Ferrer against Romania's Victor Hanescu and fourth-seeded Italian Fabio Fognini against Spanish qualifier Pablo Carreno-Busta.

The 2013 Portugal Open winner will collect $96,000.
