Monterrey, MX (Sports Network) - Fifth-seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova outlasted top-seeded Angelique Kerber in Sunday's final at the $235,000 Monterrey Open to remain perfect at the event and claim her third title in four years in Mexico.

Pavlyuchenkova has never lost in Monterrey, as the 21-year-old Russian improved to 15-0 at this event with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 triumph over Kerber of Germany on the hardcourts at Sierra Madre Tennis Club.

Pavlyuchenkova, who won back-to-back titles here in 2010 and 2011 before skipping the event last year to play in Dubai, overcame 13 double faults to capture her first WTA title of the year and fourth of her career.

Kerber nearly rallied from an 0-5 hole in the third set, but was unable to complete the comeback and remains in search of her first WTA crown of the year.

With the win, Pavlyuchenkova improved to 2-0 against the world No. 6 German, with their only previous meeting coming in the quarterfinals at Brisbane earlier this year.
