Carson, CA (Sports Network) - A second-half goal from Erick Torres was the
difference as Chivas USA secured a 1-0 win over D.C. United at the StubHub
Center on Sunday in a battle of last-place teams.
The result makes United the first team in MLS to officially be eliminated from
playoff contention, while it is just a matter of time before Chivas suffers
the same fate.
Both sides lacked any real creativity in the first half and the two best
chances fell to United's Conor Doyle, but he was unable to beat Chivas
goalkeeper Dan Kennedy.
