Carson, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Galaxy have signed midfielder
Laurent Courtois, the club announced on Friday.
Courtois, a native of Lyon, France, began training with the Galaxy last week
and played 45 minutes in a reserve league match after being released by Chivas
USA on June 30.
Per club and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Courtois appeared in 33 regular-season matches for the Goats after signing with
the club in 2011. He made his debut for the club on August 6, 2011 against the
New England Revolution and started 15 games while scoring three goals and
adding one assist.
In addition to his time with Chivas USA, Courtois has spent time in France with
Ajaccio, Toulouse, Istres and Grenoble after beginning his career with Lyon.
The 34-year-old has also played for Premier League side West Ham United and La
Liga outfit Levante.
