Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - The Nashville Predators made their first
foray into free agency, inking unrestricted free-agent forward Viktor
Stalberg for $12 million over four years.
The 27-year-old Swede finished the lockout-shortened 2013 season with nine
goals and 23 points in 47 games for the Chicago Blackhawks. The fourth-year
pro struggled in the postseason, however, totaling just three assists and
earning a spot in the press box for the first two games of the Stanley Cup
A former sixth-round pick of Toronto back in 2006, Stalberg has collected 52
goals, 52 assists and 132 penalty minutes in 243 career appearances for the
Toronto Maple Leafs and Blackhawks since 2009.
