CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Coach Ron Rivera says he's trying to keep the Panthers' spirits up after Carolina has blown fourth-quarter leads in three straight games to fall to 1-5.

He says it's inevitable the wins will come. The Panthers have been in every game late, although they haven't quite figured out how to finish.

The Atlanta Falcons defeated the Panthers 31-17 on Sunday despite Carolina entering the fourth quarter with a 17-14 lead.

His biggest mission now may be keeping up the spirits of the men who play for him, including rookie quarterback Cam Newton, who has developed a reputation for taking losing extremely hard.

Rivera jokingly referred to his star player as "Mister Mopeyhead" during his Monday press conference.

The Panthers next host the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
