CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Carolina Panthers have addressed a glaring need on the offensive line by selecting Zack Williams of Washington State late in the sixth round.
The 203rd overall selection on Saturday, the 6-foot-3, 309-pound Williams has played both center and guard. The Panthers have little depth at right guard after mixing and matching several players at that spot last season.
Williams becomes the third offensive player taken by Carolina in the draft, joining quarterback Cam Newton and receiver Kealoha Pilares. The Panthers had the league's worst offense in 2010, mustering 16 touchdowns.
