Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Robert Geathers was placed on injured reserve Wednesday after hurting his elbow in the team's Monday night win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Geathers, the Bengals' longest-tenured player, sustained the injury during the first half of the 20-10 Week 2 victory. The veteran lineman had missed just 10 games total over his first nine NFL seasons, all of which were spent with Cincinnati.

A starter on the Bengals' defensive line in each of the past six seasons, Geathers was being just in a rotational role behind Carlos Dunlap for the first two games.

Cincinnati made several other roster moves on Wednesday, re-signing safety Jeromy Miles and adding cornerback Curtis Marsh while waiving linebacker J.K. Schaffer.

Miles, one of the Bengals' top special-teams players who had been with the club since 2010, was waived prior to Monday's contest. Schaffer was signed off the practice squad to take his place and was active for the Pittsburgh game.

Marsh was a third-round pick of Philadelphia in 2011 who made 12 tackles in 15 games with the Eagles last season, but was waived by the team just prior to the season opener after suffering a hand fracture.
