WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest sophomore forward Daniel Green will miss the 2012-13 season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee this past weekend.
Green suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of Friday's exhibition game against Brock in St. Catharines, Ontario.
An MRI on Monday revealed the tear in Green's knee, and he will undergo surgery to fix the tear in early November. Team physician Dr. David Martin will perform the surgery at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Green will likely redshirt this season to retain the year of eligibility.
Green played in 27 games off the bench last season, averaging 1.4 points and 1.7 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per game.
Wake Forest opens the regular season on Friday, Nov. 9, at home against Radford.
