EWU's Adams, Kupp earn Big Sky awards

Ogden, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Eastern Washington sophomore quarterback Vernon Adams was voted the Big Sky Conference's offensive MVP and his favorite wide receiver, Cooper Kupp, won the first freshman of the year honor on Tuesday.

Both players were unanimously selected to the All-Big Sky first team.

Montana State senior defensive end Brad Daly and Cal Poly senior defensive tackle Sullivan Grosz were named Big Sky co-defensive MVPs.

UC Davis running back Gabe Manzanarez was named the newcomer of the year.

In previous years, freshmen fell under the newcomer of the year award.

The Big Sky coach of the year will be announced Wednesday.
