Hilton Head Island, SC (Sports Network) - Charley Hoffman fired a 5-under 66 on Saturday and grabbed a 2-stroke lead over former Wake Forest star Webb Simpson at the RBC Heritage.
Hoffman, Steve LeBrun and Kevin Streelman held the 36-hole lead after the rain-suspended second round concluded Saturday morning. Hoffman then tallied five birdies during his bogey-free third round to finish 54 holes at 11-under 202.
Simpson, who missed the cut at the Masters, carded a 6-under 65 -- the low score of the third round -- and moved into second place at 9-under. Streelman sits alone in third place at 8-under after shooting 69 at Harbour Town Golf Links.
Graeme McDowell (68) and Brendon de Jonge (67) are tied for fourth at 7-under, while Bill Haas (70) is part of a large group knotted in sixth place at 6- under.
