Hempstead, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Led by 21 points from Zeke Upshaw, the
Hofstra Pride handed a 77-60 defeat to the William & Mary Tribe in a Colonial
Athletic Association matchup at the Mack Sports Complex.
For the Pride (7-12, 3-1 CAA), Dion Nesmith added a double-double of 15 points
and 10 assists, while Stephen Nwaukoni finished with a double-double of his
with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Marcus Thornton led the Tribe (10-7, 2-2) with 17 points and Tim Rusthoven
finished with 13 points.
Hofstra shot 50 percent from the field and 5-of-10 from 3-point range in the
opening stanza, as the Pride took a 34-33 advantage into the break.
William & Mary kept pace by knocking down 6-of-13 from beyond the arc in the
half, part of a 41.9 percent shooting performance.
After the break. Hofstra stayed hot from deep, again connecting on 5-of-10
from 3-point range, shooting 44 percent from the field. William & Mary
struggled from long range, making just 2-of-12 from 3-point distance and
shooting 34.5 from the field overall in the period. Leading by three early in
the second, the Pride went on a 17-0 spurt to run away with the game.
Hofstra finished with a 41-31 advantage on the boards. William & Mary was able
