Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Markel Starks led all scorers with 18
points as the Georgetown Hoyas made easy work of the High Point Panthers,
80-45, in a non-conference clash at the Verizon Center.
Starks shot 8-of-11 from the field and dished out five assists for Georgetown
(5-2), which has won four in a row. D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera added 17 points,
while Joshua Smith put up 11 points.
For High Point (3-4), Jorge Perez-Laham was the only player in double figures
with 10 points.
Georgetown shot 45.8 percent from the field in the first half while holding
High Point to a lowly 18.5 percent, as it took a 28-16 lead into the halftime
The Hoyas played even better in the second half by making 61.8 percent of
their field goal tries, as their advantage ballooned to as many as 40.
Georgetown shot 10-of-24 from 3-point range on the evening, while High Point
was just 3-of-21 from beyond the arc.
