Peoria, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyshon Pickett and Auston Barnes each
recorded double-doubles for the Bradley Braves, who topped the Central
Michigan Chippewas 80-70 at Carver Arena in non-conference action.
Walt Lemon Jr. notched a team-high 20 points for the Braves (3-0), including
6-of-6 from the free throw line. Pickett contributed 19 points and 12 rebounds
and Barnes tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds. Omari Grier added 12 points and
Chris Blake brought in 10 rebounds.
Chris Fowler tallied 20 points and five assists for the Chippewas (1-1),
Austin Keel added 15 points and John Simons tacked on 14.
The Chippewas shot a miserable 28.1 percent in the first half of the contest,
and ended up trailing 39-28 at the halfway point.
The Braves led by as many as 17 points in the second half as they shot 51.9
percent from the field.
Bradley shot over 50 percent in both halves of play and dominated the boards,
hauling in 50 rebounds to Central Michigan's 28.
