Memphis, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Memphis Tigers forward David Pellom is
expected to be sidelined for five weeks after undergoing debridement surgery
on his left knee on Thursday.
Pellom transferred from George Washington to Memphis in April after missing
the entire 2012-13 campaign with a wrist injury.
The 6-foot-7, 224-pound forward was experiencing some knee discomfort from an
injury suffered earlier in his collegiate career at George Washington.
"It was a simple and minor procedure, and we expect David back in no time,"
Memphis head coach Josh Pastner said.
The 13th-ranked Tigers will host an exhibition game against Christian Brothers
on Friday before opening the regular season versus Austin Peay on Nov. 14.
Memphis will travel to No. 8 Oklahoma State five days later.
