Richmond, VA (Sports Network) - Jake Cohen led four players in double figures
with 19 points as the Davidson Wildcats earned a 70-64 win on the road over
the Richmond Spiders in non-conference play at the Robins Center.
De'Mon Brooks added 14 points, Clint Mann had 11 points off the bench and J.P.
Kuhlman chipped in 10 points for Davidson (7-5) which has won three of its
last five games.
Darien Brothers scored 16 points to pace Richmond (9-5) which lost its third
straight game. Kendall Anthony added 13 points, Trey Davis added 12 off the
bench and Greg Robbins tacked on 11 points.
The Wildcats ran out to a 37-18 halftime advantage by shooting an even 50.0
percent from the field while holding Richmond to just six field goals in the
Richmond turned it around in the second half and shot at a blistering 63.0
percent. Davidson had just eight field goals in the final 20 minutes but hit
14-of-16 shots from the free throw line to secure the victory.
The Spiders lost despite a 25-18 edge on points off turnovers. Davidson
had a 33-21 advantage in rebounds.
