Charleston, WV-- A standout football player at a high school in West Virginia is coming to North Carolina.
Thursday, Ryan Switzer a George Washington High junior football standout made his commitment to UNC. Switzer made his verbal commitment in front of his Charleston, WV High School.
Switzer said he wants to play his college football for the University of North Carolina and Coach Larry Fedora.
Ryan Switzer's record: 2011 Kennedy Award (top West Virginia High School Football Player) is a three-year starter for George Washington and broke school single-season records in 2011 with 2,785 rushing yards and 40 rushing touchdowns. At 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds, Switzer lined up at running back, at receiver, cornerback, punter and as kickoff specialist for GW in 2011, leading the team to a Class AAA runner-up finish.
Switzer chose the Tar Heels out of a final five list of schools that included Penn State, West Virginia, Wake Forest and Duke.
