"All hail to the queen!" Jay Z told the crowd at New York's Pier 40 stadium Saturday night. As if we needed to be told.
There were whispers before the DirecTV Super Bowl party got going that Jay Z's wife might make a surprise entrance. And it happened.
sexy ladies in New York City tonight!" Jay Z asked the audience at
around 12: 50 a.m., just about halfway through his hour-long set.
"I said," he reiterated, 'Any sexy ladies in New York City tonight?"
And in Beyonce
strutted - dancing, singing and flirting with her hubby. The two rapped
and kissed and then she sauntered off stage with a big smile. It wasn't
steamy like their recent Grammy duet. This was more of a sweet moment
in a weekend packed with star-studded moments.
"Make some noise for Queen Bey!" said Jay Z as she exited the stage..
The party was such a hot ticket that Mark Cuban, co-host of the bash, told USA TODAY, "We turned away at least 5,000 people."
CBS This Morning co-anchor Gayle King was definitely not one of them. "I've seen Jay Z five, six, maybe nine times. I even flew to Paris
one time to see him," she said. "I think he's so smart. I think his
lyrics are so great." And, she added, "I think there's something special
about seeing Jay Z in New York . This is really his turf."
Right you are, Gayle!
