GREENSBORO, NC-- WFMY is hosting a community 'Get Well' card to be sent to one of the firefighters injured in Thursday's massive fire.
Firefighters and community members signed poster boards at Fire Station 11 at 2602 S. Elm-Eugene St. on Friday with words of encouragement and well wishes.
"I just think the courage that they have, not knowing what they're going into is just absolutely overwhelmingly awesome," card-signer Jennifer Majors said.
Capt. Suddarth is recovering in the burn center at Wake Forest Baptist. The Greensboro Fire Department told WFMY News 2 he is doing well and his wife has been by his side.
Saturday evening, Deputy Chief Clarence Hunter told WFMY News 2 Captain Suddarth and his family "would again like to state how appreciative they are for the tremendous support received from the Greensboro Fire Department, Winston Salem Fire Department, other fire departments, and the community."
