An apparent drug-cartel slaying in remote Wyoming and a 911 dispatcher accused of serious misconduct make this week's list:

1. Cartel-style beheading stumps Wyoming cops: A gruesome find on a dirt road has police in Wyoming fearing that Mexican drug cartel-style violence has found its way to one of the least populated parts of America. Duck hunters found the decapitated body of an unidentified man, and one of the few clues is his distinctive belt buckle.

2. Cops: 911 dispatcher takes call, warns boyfriend: A 911 dispatcher in Delaware took a call about shots fired at a particular address, and then passed the information along. The problem is that police say she passed it along not to patrol cars but to her boyfriend, as a warning.

3. Farmer is first American jailed thanks to a drone: An inevitable milestone: A North Dakota farmer has become the first American to be convicted and sentenced to prison because of police work helped along by a drone.

4. Police catch deputy in own prostitution sting: Well this must have been awkward: The Harris County, Texas, Constable's Office sent a deputy out undercover as a prostitute this week, and sure enough she was soon propositioned-by a deputy from the same precinct.

5. Armed robber snatches 300-year-old Stradivarius: One of the most valuable instruments in the world was stolen Monday by a robber who used a stun gun on the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's concertmaster in a parking lot. The assailant then made off with a priceless Stradivarius violin.
