ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. -- Law enforcement officials say they are now offering a $35,000 reward for information in the disappearance of Erica Parsons.

The annoucement was made at a news conference Thursday afternoon.

Erica has been missing since November 2011, but her family didn't report her missing until six months ago.

Last summer, investigators searched Erica's adoptive parents', Sandy and Casey Parsons, home for 12 hours. According to a warrant, they found red stains on a pair of pants and drywall. They also searched a storage building that belongs to Sandy at his father's home in China Grove. A warrant said investigators found teeth, a hammer, video tape, pieces of a vacuum cleaner and school records.

At the end of December, Sheriff Kevin Auten told WBTV cadaver dogs indicated a possible presence of human remains on property owned by Sandy Parsons' father.
