WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest senior forward Travis McKie was named the ACC Co-Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Demon Deacons to two wins last week.

McKie averaged 19.0 points and hit 7-of-13 from 3-point range in leading Wake Forest to a win at Virginia Tech on Wednesday and a home victory over Notre Dame on Saturday.

McKie entered the week in a slump, having scored a combined 15 points over his previous four games. But he broke out of the slump with a season-high 24 points on Wednesday at Virginia Tech, leading the Demon Deacons to their first ACC road win in two years.

McKie went 7-for-10 from the field, including 5-of-6 from 3-point range, against the Hokies. He scored 15 of his points in the first half in helping Wake Forest build a 21-point advantage early on. McKie also pulled down six boards and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the line on the night.

While his numbers in Saturday's 65-58 win over Notre Dame did not match Wednesday's, McKie helped seal the win with his play down the stretch. He hit 4-of-4 free throws in the final 30 seconds and also pulled down a critical defensive rebound when the Deacons were leading by three with 20 seconds remaining.

McKie finished with 14 points, three rebounds, a block and a steal in 32 minutes against Notre Dame.

McKie shared the weekly honor with Pittsburgh's Lamar Patterson. It was McKie's first Player of the Week award. He earned three ACC Rookie of the Week awards in 2010-11.

Duke's Jabari Parker was named this week's ACC Rookie of the Week.

McKie is the 31st all-time Demon Deacon to earn an ACC Player of the Week award since the conference began handing out the weekly honor in 1970. C.J. Harris won the award last season after leading Wake Forest to an upset of No. 2-ranked Miami.

Wake Forest is 14-6 overall and 4-3 on the season entering Wednesday's game against No. 2-ranked Syracuse. The Deacons will host the Orange at the LJVM Coliseum with tip-off scheduled for 9 p.m.
