Friday, people gave a final goodbye to Civil Rights Pioneer, Franklin McCain.
Family and friends gathered in Charlotte for the funeral of Greensboro four's Franklin McCain.
Jesse Jackson greeted the McCain family as they arrived at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
Jackson was a classmate of McCain at A&T.
Franklin McCain was one of four students who staged a sit-in at an all-white lunch counter at the Woolworths in Downtown Greensboro on February 1, 1960.
"All of this new south comes from the risk that these young men took," Jackson said. "This is a big, big moment in the south and in American life."
Senator Kay Hagan, U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx, and the two surviving members of the Greensboro Four were among the speakers at Friday's funeral.
