SALISBURY, N.C. -- Department of Public Safety officers captured a prison escapee Tuesday morning.
Jonathon Dixon escaped from Piedmot Correctional Institution Sunday night.
While searching for Dixon, officers notices a broken window on a building on Auction Drive near I-85.
Police found Dixon in the building. He surrendered without resistance.
Dixon will face charges for escape from prison as well as additional charges for break-ins and burglaries he committed while on the run.
Dixon was in prison serving a seven-year sentence for several counts of breaking and entering, and theft.
