DES MOINES, Iowa - A man reportedly created a security breach at the Des Moines International Airport on Monday when, on a dare, he rode a loop on the baggage claim carousel.
Officers responded to the incident around 1:45 a.m. Monday, police reports show.
Witnesses pointed out the 27-year-old man, who, by that point, had removed himself and his bags from the carousel and was putting the bags into a car, authorities said.
Witnesses said the man had first stuck his head through the baggage doorway, then crouched down and rode the moving belt around the secured around and back out the other side.
The man, who was not identified, told police he rode the carousel as a dare and "didn't think it was going to be that big of a deal."
He said he was sorry for his actions.
Officers said the man smelled of alcohol and he admitted to having three drinks, police reports show.
No charges have been filed yet but police have video of the incident.
