Afternoon Rain, Then Cold And Windy

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Low pressure and a cold front will approach from the west. Another low pressure area will track northeast along the coast. 

These two systems will combine to bring rain to the Piedmont Thursday, into the evening. High pressure will build over the region Thursday night through Saturday, and bring cold and windy conditions along with sunshine.

Clouds will continue to thicken throughout the day. Rain will be more likely south and east of the Triad in the morning with rain spreading over the entire area in the afternoon. The high will be 48. Rain will taper off this evening. The sky will clear and it will become windy and colder. Winds may briefly gusts to over 30 mph at night. The low will be 26.

Friday and Saturday will be mostly sunny and cold. It will continue to be rather windy on Friday with gusts of 30 mph. With a high of only 34 on Friday, the winds will produce wind chills in the teens. Saturday's high will be around 40.

Clouds will increase Saturday night and rain is expected on Sunday. The rain could begin as a period of freezing rain on Sunday morning as critical temperatures will be near 30. The high on Sunday will be 45.

Our normal high temperature is 48, and our normal low is 30.
