ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. -- Next year will be a year of preparations for a new distribution center that will bring 450 jobs.
Alamance County commissioners unanimously approved $85 million to bring a Walmart distribution center and 450 jobs to Mebane. Those incentives include paying for the infrastructure, the land, and running water for the site.
"Wal-Mart in one of the largest company in the world and were just glad they're apart of Alamance County," said William Lashley, Vice Chairman of the Alamance County Commissioners.
The distribution center will be located along I-40/I-85 in Mebane. The facility will be built in 2015 and will hire employees in 2016.
