Newberry County, S.C. (WLTX)-- A law enforcement dog reported missing
over the weekend, was struck by a vehicle and has been found
Authorities in Newberry County say the missing German Shepherd, named
"Baruck", was struck by a car Tuesday night in a subdivision off of
Highway 391 near Lake Murray. The dog ran off into the woods after the
incident. It wasn't clear how badly he might have been injured. But this
morning, a resident of the area found the dog.
"Baruck" worked with the Batesburg-Leesville Police Department. His
handler is an officer with that department, but lives in Newberry
On Saturday, "Baruck" and his companion dog were reported missing,
after a tree fell on a fence, allowing an opening for them to get away.
The female dog has since returned home.
