Seventy-one counties in North Carolina are being quarantined for fire ants. Parts of Guilford County are included in that 71.
Parts of the Eastern portion of Guilford County have fire ants.
According to North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, starting Jan. 1. 2014, all of Lincoln County and parts of Catawba County will be part of the fire ant quarantine.
