High Point, N.C. -- A company based in High Point announced Wednesday that is going to expand and add jobs.
According to the High Point Economic Development Corporation Newell Rubbermaid will create a customer service center of excellence at its existing Levolor and Kirsch facility, in High Point. It also plans to add 75 jobs.
Newell Rubbermaid employs 170 people at its existing customer service center on Premier Drive. Levolor, a Newell Rubbermaid brand, came to High Point in 1995 after moving operations to the facility.
Loren Hill, president of the High Point Economic Development Corporation, said, "We have been proud to have Newell Rubbermaid as a good corporate citizen for 18 years. Their continued commitment to High Point is impressive."
Dave Smith, the company's vice president for Customer & Consumer Service, said, "We chose High Point because of our success in operating our largest existing customer service center, as well as access to a well-educated employee base and the ease of doing business in the state of North Carolina, where we also have significant offices in the Charlotte area."
