Greensboro, NC -- Another round of severe storms rolled through the Triad Friday afternoon knocking down trees and taking out power for many.
A line of storms developed over the mountains early Friday afternoon and strengthened as they moved east into the Piedmont. As they reached the western Triad the storms became severe producing 60 mph wind gusts, very heavy rain and frequent lightning.
Numerous trees were knocked down across Guilford, Forsyth and Alamance County resulting in loss of power to thousands. At one point there were around 9,000 Duke Energy customers without power Friday evening around 6:15.
Some strong and potentially severe storms will remain possible through the southern fringe of the News 2 viewing area through this evening, but the immediate Triad shouldn't see anything more than an isolates shower.
If you received damage from the storms you can send WFMY News 2 your pictures at email@example.com.
