Yadkin County, NC -- Deputies arrested and charged two people for stealing a prescription drug pad from a Huntersville medical center to obtain Oxycodone, according to the sheriff's office.

Officers arrested 22-year-old Randall Darron Pruitt, of Yanceyville, and 37-year-old Lelia Gene Settle in the case that goes back to March 2013.

Investigators began looking into the case after they learned the suspects had been picking up multiple prescriptons from pharmacies across North Carolina.

Deputies say they arrested Pruitt and Settle after they found used needles and syringes, along with other drug paraphernalia, in a mobile home on Cleary Road.

Deputies also found several fraudulent prescriptions in the home.

Investigators say the suspects used different names and would drop off the prescriptions before returning with fake IDs, or in some cases their real IDs, to pick up the drugs.

Pruitt is charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and trafficking in opiates by possession. He's being held in the Yadkin County Jail under a $15,000 bond.

Settle faces two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance; two counts of selling and delivering a controlled substance; obtaining a controlled substance by fraud; and trafficking in opiates by possession.

And, these two aren't alone. The sheriff's office says similar arrests have been made in Statesville and Elkin, and more suspects, or more charges, could come in Huntersville, North Wilkesboro and Mocksville.
