Mount Airy, NC-- Police in Mount Airy have charged a woman with selling prescription drugs at a mall.
Officers charged Amanda Christine Montgomery, 27, of Hillsville, VA on February 7 for allegedly trafficking hydrocodone pills while working in a kiosk at Mayberry Mall on U.S. Highway 52 north in Mount Airy.
Police said in a news release that Montgomery sold a total of 135 pills to an undercover ALE agent four different times during their investigation. When officers arrested her, they said she had an additional 31 pills in her possession.
Offense dates for the charges were Nov. 15 and Dec. 5, 2012 and Jan. 2 and Feb. 7, 2013, detectives said.
Montgomery is charged with four counts each of Trafficking in Opiates, Sell/Deliver of a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver a Controlled Substance and Use and Possession with Intent to Use Drug Paraphernalia.
She is being held in the Surry County Jail on a $75,000 secured bond.
