WFMY-TV - A UNC-Greensboro political science professor has been paying close attention to what's happening in Congress in regards to the so-called "fiscal cliff."
Thom Little told News 2's Carol Andrews that he is convinced that there will be a deal even if members of Congress do not reach it by their self-imposed deadline on Friday.
Administrators say President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner met Sunday to discuss ongoing fiscal cliff negotiations.
Spokesmen for both leader said they'd agreed not to release details about their meeting, but said they are still communicating well.
The White House meeting comes as the President and Congress continue to try to come to an agreement on tax increases and spending cuts scheduled to start at the beginning of the year.
