Winston-Salem State Advances To NCAA DII Championship Game

Winston-Salem, N.C.--For the first time in school history, Winston-Salem State will have the chance to play for the NCAA DII Football National Championship.

Head Coach Connell Maynor and the Rams knocked off West Texas A&M 41-18 to move on to next Saturday's championship game in Florence, Alabama.

Quarterback Kameron Smith completed 15 of 23 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns.

Maurice Lewis carried the ball 21 times for 118 yards and two touchdowns for the Rams.

WSSU, 14-0 on the season, will take on Valdosta State at 1pm.

The Rams saw their season end in the National Semifinals last year at the hands of Wayne State.
