Winston-Salem, NC -- BB&T expects to bring 1,700 jobs to the Triad over the next five years, the company announced Tuesday.
BB&T Corporation signed a seven-year agreement to take over ownership of the building at 7701 Airport Center Dr. in Greensboro. The BB&T Triad Corporate Center will eventually house 2,500 associates working in back office, administrative and support functions.
The company expects to move into the new facility by the end of the year.
BB&T's chief operating officer, Chris Henson, said the company expects to add around 1,700 jobs over the next five years.
Henson said the company chose the site because of its central location to Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and High Point.
BB&T will begin moving 50 to 100 associates to the BB&T Triad Corporate Center by December. The number will increase over the five-year phase-in period.
