Stoneville, NC -- Deputies with the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office arrested a suspect in the stabbing death of a Stoneville man Saturday morning.
Dustin Justice Wright is accused of stabbing and killing Mark Anthony Chandler.
Deputies, along with Stoneville police, arrived at 341 Belthrop Rd. around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, officers found two victims suffering from stab wounds and had EMS transport them to hospitals.
Chandler died at Morehead Hospital. The other victim, Cody Lee Collins, was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies say there was some sort of gathering at the home when a fight occured. Investigators say alcohol was involved.
Someone asked Wright to leave just before all this happened, deputies say. Wright later stabbed the victims and ran from the scene, according to a news release.
Officers later arrested Wright in Stokes County. He is charged with Voluntary Manslaughter and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.
He's being held in the Rockingham County jail under a $250,000 secured bond.
Wright's first court appearance will be Oct. 16 in the Rockingham County District Court.
The arrest was a joint effort by the Rockingham and Stokes County Sheriff's Offices; Stoneville, Madison and Mayodan police; and the State Bureau of Investigation.
