Burlington, NC-- A prowler call to Burlington Police just after 5am Saturday ended with the arrest of a woman for a home break-in.
Police said they were called to a home at 1918 Trail Five initially on a prowler call, but while officers were enroute to the address, the 911 call was upgraded to a Breaking and Entering. The suspect was reported to be still inside the home.
When officers arrived they found 25 year-old Ashley Lacole Dixon in the laundry room of the house covered in blood. According to police, Dixon cut her left arm after allegedly breaking the glass door to enter the home. The homeowner told officers she struggled with Dixon and peppered sprayed her to defend herself. Police said the homeowner was not injured.
Investigators also found Fredrick Rodney Michaels in the back of the house. During their investigation into the crime, police learned that Michael's car had been damaged by Dixon.
While Dixon was being treated on the scene by Emergency Technicians, police said she jumped out of the ambulance and ran toward Michaels. Officers quickly subdued Dixon who was transported to Alamance Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released.
The entire incident stemmed from an earlier domestic dispute between the people involved, according to police.
Ashley Lacole Dixon was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering, Simple Assault, Injury to Personal Property, Injury to Real Property, Resist, Delay and Obstruct a Government Official.
Her bond was set at $2500.00.
