Greensboro, NC - It's easy to go off on a tangent when talking about yourself, but when you're on a job interview, remember to tell stories that are complimentary and not embarrassing.

In today's One Minute Career Check, Consultant Joyce Richman tells us which stories you should focus on while sitting across from a potential employer.

"Check your assumption and don't tell stories that just aren't true. Don't tell stories that take down your confidence, stories that impact your consciousness, stories that challenge your self esteem. Instead, if you are going to tell stories, talk about when you came from behind, stories when you accomplished something, stories when you were a great team player, and when you were a team leader. Stick to stories where you made a difference for the people where you worked, the people where you live. These are the stories that should be talked about when you are networking or on an interview."
