NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa -- Police say a North Liberty man driving on New Year's Eve was pulled over with a blood alcohol content that was more than five times the legal limit.
The North Liberty Police Department says it received multiple reports Tuesday night about 40-year-old Chad L. Harvey. He is accused of recklessly driving and making a very wide turn into oncoming traffic.
Police pulled Harvey over and noted he was unable to stand or complete a field sobriety test. Police say Harvey admitted to drinking alcohol.
Harvey was later taken to the Coralville Police Department. He posted a .435 blood alcohol content.
The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports Harvey has been charged with a serious misdemeanor of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Court records do not list an attorney.
