Car accidents are a leading cause of death among children. More parents are buckling up their kids, compared to 25 years ago. But the problem is they're not doing it all the time.

Child advocacy group, Safe Kids Worldwide, surveyed more than 1,000 parents. One in four admitted to sometimes driving without buckling up their kids.

In 2011, about 680 children, under the age of 12, were killed in motor vehicle crashes. One-third of the kids, according to the study, were riding without car seats or seatbelts.

Since 1987, the number of children dying in motor vehicle crashes has fallen 58 percent. But motor vehicle accidents continue to be the leading cause of injury-related death for children ages 1-12
