Greensboro, NC - For some, this is the most wonderful time of year.
College football kicked off Thursday night with the Battle of the Carolinas.
It's a season fans and business owners look forward to.
"This is not a typically Thursday night," explained Wesley Cook, Manager, KickBack Jacks.
Cook added, "It's much busier than normal."
The grub, the gear, the cheers and sometimes tears - the sights, sounds and tastes are right. College Football is back.
"I'm excited, I just love college football," said Clark Wright, a USC fan.
"It's the competition, it's the camaraderie, it's also a throw back to my days when I was in college. I get to relive my youth a little bit as well as spend time with some good friends," said Wiley Jackson, UNC fan.
"To experience the atmosphere of college football, we love getting to Chapel Hill and watching games, and just getting to enjoy the tailgates, it's definitely a good part," said Cory Wyrick, a UNC fan.
"It's just the excitement; college football is just the raw action of it all. [It's] so much better than Pro. I may get killed for that but I love college football," explained USC fan, Kevin Smith.
"It's very good for business," said Cook.
Kick Back Jacks was packed with hundreds of people, Thursday night. The food and drinks were flowing as the crowd continued to grow.
At Omega Sports, fans stocked up on shirts, hats, and seat cushion. They purchased any and everything with their Alma mater or favorite team to get ready for the season.
"Everybody is kind of getting hyped up today and coming in today, we've been really busy today," said Cecil Travis, Assistant Manager, Omega Sports.
He added, "It's going to be big, it's the first game of the year everybody is really excited."
