Broward County, FL -- Fire officials in Florida said an unsuspecting couple drove anywhere from four to 10 miles with a puppy stuck in their car engine.
The couple was driving from Hallandale Beach, and had reached Dania Beach, some seven miles away, before they realized their engine was running a little rough and pulled over.
Upon closer inspection, they found the puppy had crawled under the car and become trapped between the steering mechanism and one of the axles.
Fire officials carefully removed the steering mechanism and took about two minutes to give the canine its freedom. They gave the pup some water and then took it to get checked out. But they said it appeared to have no outward injuries.
