Davidson County, NC -- America's favorite zookeeper, "Jungle" Jack Hanna made a special visit to Davidson County Community College (DCCC) Monday night.

Hanna spoke with college students about a variety of animal species. He captivated the crowd of students at DCCC, with his knowledge of the animal world. The college hopes to continue its annual celebration of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

Dr. Mark Branson, Dean of the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education at DCCC said he was excited about Hanna's visit to the college. "His presence will also help bring more attention to the college's launching of the aquarium track in Zoo and Aquarium Science Program, which begins in the fall," Branson said.

Hanna's love for animals started as a child when he cleaned animal cages for a veterinarian. He also used his backyard to explore the creek behind his home. He's now explored the globe and shares his love of the animal kingdom with students.

Hanna has had three syndicated television programs, "Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures," "Jack Hanna's Into the Wild," and "Jack Hanna's Wild Countdown." He's also an author of ten books.
