Two pandas have arrived to their new home a world away. But, it's how they got there that is making news.
Would you believe...Fedex! The bears were shipped via Fedex air from China to Canada as part of an agreement signed by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and China's former President Hu Jintao.
Er Shun, a 5-year-old female, and Da Mao, a 4-year-old male, will spend five years at the Toronto Zoo and then five years at the Calgary Zoo as part of the agreement.
"Er Shun (female) and Da Mao (male) will arrive on Monday, March 25 at the FedEx Express tarmac at Toronto Pearson International Airport before being carefully transported to their quarantine area at the Zoo," a FedEx press release said. "These two pandas were selected to come to Canada as they are an excellent genetic match for breeding."
